The various state agencies continue their preparations to transfer the royal mummies from the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir to the Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Fustat, and there are 22 royal mummies.

And that is within the framework of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi’s directives to establish a majestic procession befitting the greatness of the Pharaohs, and highlights the state’s ongoing efforts to develop and modernize Cairo and other ancient cities.

Recently, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, in cooperation with the Cairo Governorate and the concerned authorities, conducted several rehearsals for the Great Procession of Royal Mummies, starting from the Egyptian Museum, and passing through Tahrir Square after its development.

The royal mummies path passes through predefined roads that have been developed in a manner befitting the great procession, which is planned to be a tourist attraction during the coming period, after converting the area directly in front of the museum into a tourist attraction project linked to the museum as well as establishing several roads to serve the area and link it to roads. Main.

The Omar Makram Mosque and the various sides of the square were lit up, as the procession would pass out of the door of the museum next to the League of Arab States.

Then it will turn with the field tray, then it will head to Simon Bolivar Square, then it will proceed along the Nile Corniche to the Fustat area.

It is worth noting that the royal mummies include 17 royal sarcophagi dating back to the era of the families “17, 18, 19, and 20”, including 18 mummies for kings, and 4 mummies for queens, including the mummies of King Ramses II, King Seknen Ra, King Thutmose III, and King Seti the First, Queen Hatshepsut, Queen Merit Amon, wife of King Amenhotep the First, and Queen Ahmose-Nefertari, wife of King Ahmose.
