The Egyptian national team will reappear to compete in the African Nations Cup qualifiers to be held at the beginning of next year, 2022, with a difficult confrontation away from home.
Egypt will be a guest to its Kenyan counterpart in the penultimate round of Group G matches in the African Nations Cup qualifiers, in search of a qualifying card.
Hope to return
Egypt called the last African Nations Cup tournament in its stadiums from the round of sixteen, and lost the opportunity to return to the throne of the continent, but it returns again in the qualifiers of the next tournament, hoping to reach and then win the title.
The Egyptian team missed the African Nations Cup in three successive editions after winning three consecutive tournaments between 2006 and 2010, but returned in 2017 to reach the final before failure in Cairo in 2019.
Hossam Al-Badri’s men seek to return in 2022 with the image of the champion who won 7 African Cup of Nations titles, in search of the eighth title, and to regain their preferred position on the throne of African football.
Point is enough
Egypt leads the group with 8 points, on goal difference, second-place Comoros, while Kenya comes third with 3 points.
The Kenyan team needs to beat Egypt to preserve its chances of qualifying as the first or second of the group before the last round match, hoping that Egypt or the Comoros will stumble in the last meeting between them.
However, the Egyptian national team is only sufficient to achieve a draw in Kenya in order to reach the ninth point and qualify officially, provided that it is decided at the top or runner-up in the last round by hosting the Comoros.
After the absence of two years ago, Mohamed Salah returns to lead the Egyptian national team in a difficult African mission in Kenya, seeking to help his team to win and grab the qualifying card.
Salah also seeks to improve his individual numbers in scoring goals with his country’s national team, in his attempt to become the country’s historic goal-scorer before he intends to retire.
Mohamed Salah gives his coach, Hossam El-Badry, tremendous offensive power, as the Egyptian team regains the most important Premier League scorer in the last four seasons and is the leader of the Golden Boot race this season.
