Kenya defender Goash Onyango is eagerly waiting for the Egyptian star, Mohamed Salah.
Kenya will host the Pharaohs on Thursday in the fifth round of the African Nations Qualifiers, before facing Togo away in the final round next week.
Onyango said in statements to the Kenyan website Capital FM: “Bring Mohamed Salah .. I look forward to this challenge and enjoy it.”
He added, “Salah is a big player in Liverpool and the English Premier League, and I want to see my level in the face of the best in the world.”
“It will be a difficult match against Egypt, but we are ready to fight and we expect a good result,” said the Tanzanian defender.
Onyango was part of the Simba squad, who beat Al-Ahly in the African Champions League with a goal free of charge weeks ago.
“Most of the players who play with Al-Ahly are in the Egyptian national team,” he added. “My confidence has become high after I confronted them and beat them.”
And he added, “I feel excited to be in the winning team again on Thursday, and for me I am not facing any pressure.”
He concluded, “Everyone’s morale is very high in this camp, and we know that facing Egypt will be a difficult challenge, but all we want is the 3 points to see if we can improve our chances of qualification.”
The Kenyan team ranks third with 3 points, 5 points behind the leaders Egypt and Comoros, while Togo is ranked bottom with one point.
There are 6 other professional players in Kenyas list with Onyango, only 2 of them are from the European continent where the Swedish league is, as a large number of the team’s professionals have missed due to travel restrictions in light of the outbreak of the Corona virus.
