The goal of Danny Ings, Southampton striker, against Liverpool
Sky Sports reported that Manchester City is seeking to replace its historic goal-scorer Sergio Aguero, whose contract expires this summer.
The report indicated that City is interested in Norwegian Erling Haaland, Borussia Dortmund striker, but his very high value may prevent the deal from being completed.
On the other hand, Injaz looks like a more realistic option that Manchester City can easily sign.
The English international striker will end his contract with Southampton in the summer of 2022, which will push the Saints to abandon him next summer to avoid his free departure if he does not renew his contract.
The 28-year-old rose to prominence with Burnley several years ago, moving to Liverpool in the summer of 2015 for 8.5 million euros.
But a group of serious injuries chased Injaz during his time at Anfield and prevented him from participating continuously, to leave for Southampton in 2018 on loan, before moving to him permanently the following year for 22 million euros.
The Liverpool Echo website stated that the Reds had placed a clause in the sales contract that would allow them to obtain 20% of the value of his future sale, which means that Liverpool will come out, taking advantage of the Injaz transfer deal to City if it occurs.
He scored 42 goals in 92 matches for Southampton, since he joined him nearly 3 years ago.
