Gambia and Gabon qualified for Group D, while the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Angola were qualified, before the end of the qualifying round.
Kazadi Kasengu, striker of Al-Masry Al-Port Said and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, participated in the loss of his country’s team against Gabon, with three goals without a response.
The Democratic Republic of the Congo will be absent from the African nations for the first time since its absence from the 2012 edition, after which it has participated in four consecutive occasions.
Aaron Poppendza, Denis Bwanga and Pierre Aubameyang scored Gabon’s three goals, respectively.
As for the Gambia national team, it guaranteed its qualification after winning a free goal against Angola in the fifth round matches.
Gabon leads the group with 10 points before the final round, while Gambia is second with the same points balance.
The Democratic Republic of the Congo is third with 6 points, and Angola is bottom with one point.
The Gabonese national team will visit Angola in the final round on Monday, while the Democratic Republic of the Congo will host the Gambia team.
