Former Ismaili coach: “Geraldo is an offensive player

Dragan Jovic, the former coach of the Ismaili team, spoke about the reasons for the failure of the Angolan Giraldo da Costa to Al-Ahly during the period that he was with the team before leaving for the Turkish League.

“I think it was related to the style of play here in Egypt compared to the Angolan League with Primero de Agosto,” Dragan added in statements to the dress-up program on Al-Nahar channel.

He explained that Geraldo was playing in the offensive and was not assigned defensive tasks during his stay in Angola, unlike the league in Egypt. If you play in a way that has defensive tasks, then it will be difficult for a player who focuses only on attack.

He pointed out that Giraldo is a great player, and he now plays in the Turkish league and I think he will confirm that he can achieve success in another league.

He confirmed that Geraldo had adapted to the offensive method in Angola and had not found this matter in Egypt.

He concluded his remarks: “Geraldo left Angola 3 years ago. Perhaps there were problems here with him, but in Al-Ahly it is difficult for any player to distinguish between the rest of the players.”
