Google launches a program to train US lawmakers to face cyber threats

Today, Monday, the US National Center for Cybersecurity and Google launched a training program for state lawmakers and their staff in all 50 US states to better prepare them for cyber threats ahead of the 2022 mid-term elections.

The initiative will include training aimed at preparing lawmakers and state employees to be vigilant against cyber threats by offering education on the cybersecurity “ecosystem”, common types of cyber attacks, and best practices on how to protect individuals from cyber threats.

“Cybersecurity is more important than ever before, as companies, government and individuals fall victim to digital attacks every day,” Forrest Senty, head of the Cybersecurity Project, told country leaders, explaining that leaders in all 50 states are arming themselves and their teams with best practices to protect themselves and their elements from electronic threats.
