Haitham Farouk: Most of the national team are far from their level … and Badri’s changes are not convincing

Haitham Farouk, the former star of Zamalek, criticized the performance of the national team players after a 1-1 draw against Kenya in the match that brought the two teams together Thursday evening in the capital, Nairobi, in the fifth round of the African Nations Cup qualifiers.

Farouk said during television statements that the changes made by Hossam Al-Badri, the coach of the national team, that he made in today’s match against Kenya are not convincing, explaining that the players of the Pharaohs did not provide the level required of them in the qualifiers and their performance is not convinced, except for the Togo match.

Farouk continued: “90 percent of the players are not at their level and most of them fly at the ball. I only like the performance of Mohamed Hani and El-Shenawy, and they are the only ones in the Formula and Mafeesh is a player who made his true level with the national team.”

The Egyptian national team tied with its Kenyan counterpart, with a goal for each, in the match that took place between them today, Thursday, in the fifth round of the qualifiers for the 2022 African Cup of Nations in Cameroon at Kasrani Stadium in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, and with this result, the Egyptian team officially qualified for the Cannes 2022 finals.

Egypt raised its tally after the draw to 9 points, equal with Comoros, while Kenya raised its tally to 4 points, leaving Egypt with one qualifying match against Comoros next Monday, which will be at the top of the group after the two teams officially qualify.
