Cape Verde joined the ranks of the qualifiers for the 2021 African Cup of Nations, after defeating Mozambique (1-1) on Tuesday in the sixth and final round of the qualifiers.
The goal of the Cape Verdean team came with a “friendly fire” scored by Mozambican, Faisal Bangal, an own goal, by the 58th minute of the match.
The Cape Verde team raised its score to 10 points, to qualify with the Cameroonian team, which holds the first place, and the host of the tournament, to the finals, while the balance of the Mozambique team stuck at 4 points in the fourth and last place.

Nineteen teams qualified for the African Nations Cup soccer finals, which Cameroon will host early next year, with the exception of a team from Group 12, after the match between Sierra Leone and its guest Benin was postponed, to further notice, due to the tense situation in the Sierra Leonean capital, Freetown.

The Benin Federation issued a statement saying: The tense situation in the Sierra Leonean capital, Freetown, prevented the match from taking place.
