Ahmed Nagy, the former goalkeeper coach of the Egyptian national team and the current Samouha, continued his defense of Mohamed Abu Jabal, the Zamalek goalkeeper, after he was excluded from participating in his team’s matches during the recent period and his exit from the Egyptian team list in the African Nations qualifiers.
The Egyptian national team is preparing for the fifth and sixth rounds of the African Nations Qualifiers against Kenya and Comoros during the current international suspension in March.
During statements to the “B On Time” program broadcast on the “Ontime Sports” channel, Naji said, “I have never done it to exclude a goalkeeper because his results are not good.”
He continued: “The (Chelny) goalkeeper was two years old and gave good results during the recent period with his team, and reached the team’s African Champions League final against Al-Ahly.
And he continued: “Why should I not bear him with two matches that I failed, I do not underestimate the value and capabilities of Mahmoud Jensh.”
He concluded: “But with the presence of Jensh, the results of Zamalek did not improve, and both players were subjected to a jolt.”
It is worth noting that the Egyptian national team will be a guest over its Kenyan counterpart at exactly 6 pm today, Thursday, in the fifth round of the Alcan qualifiers.
