The International Federation of Football Associations announced on Monday that the date for the football tournament will be scheduled for the Olympic Games to be hosted in the Japanese capital, Tokyo, next summer.

The draw will be held at FIFA headquarters on April 21 in Zurich, Switzerland, to determine the draw for the men’s and women’s competitions in Olympic football.

There are 16 men’s competitions, as follows:

Japan, the host of hospitality – Australia, South Korea and Saudi Arabia (the continent of Asia) – France, Germany, Romania and Spain (Europe) – Egypt, Côte d’Ivoire and South Africa (Africa)

Argentina and Brazil “South America” ​​- New Zealand for Oceania, and two teams will advance from the North American continent qualifiers.

The teams will be divided into 4 rankings according to participation in the last 5 Olympic tournaments, in addition to 5 additional points for the continental qualifiers champion.

The women’s competitions will witness the participation of 10 teams, namely Japan, Australia, China or South Korea, Zambia, Canada, America, Brazil, New Zealand, England, the Netherlands and Sweden, as well as a playoff match between Chile and Cameroon.
