Books – Osama Ali:
Dr. Tariq Shawky, Minister of Education and Technical Education, revealed the position of using books or electronic devices in the second term exams for the first and second secondary grades.
Shawky said, in statements to him on his personal Facebook page, that he is preventing electronic devices from entering school committees “to prevent cheating” by using these tools.
As for the “high school”, Shawky stressed, that tablets will be allowed, because electronic exams are in a technological environment that prevents access to the Internet.
The Minister of Education indicated that we have not printed paper books this year, and therefore “not all students have these books, and therefore this is inconsistent with equal opportunities in this case.”
The minister explained that the ministry will provide the information related to the exam in a special paper for all students to be prepared by the National Examination Center, adding: “I hope that we trust our ability to do this in proportion to the exam questions, knowing that this is applied to all students.”
Shawky stressed that it is very important to evaluate in an atmosphere of “equal opportunity” so that each student becomes clear about his true level in relation to his colleagues and that the real goal of the exams is achieved. According to what he said.
