Russian expert reveals a way to prevent eavesdropping on smartphones

“Reducing wiretapping and collecting personal data comes by using smartphone settings,” Kuzmenko explained. “In particular, it is necessary to enter the (Applications) section and disable access to the microphone, speakers, camera, and the site inside it.”

Smartphone owners can also disable the manufacturer’s built-in ads, and in the Android operating system, this requires you to go to Google’s ads settings and turn off the ads customization slider.

On the “iPhone” devices, you can go to settings, privacy, location services, and system services, then turn off “iAd” geolocation, then go to settings, privacy and ads and turn on: “restrict ad tracking.”

The chief specialist in testing the quality of digital products pointed out that if a smart phone is infected with a virus, its owner may face professional surveillance and wiretapping.
