Send Luis Suarez A passionate message thanking his former clubs after hitting 500 goals in his career.
The Uruguayan striker was especially grateful to Liverpool after the four seasons he spent at Anfield between 2010 and 2014, with 82 of those 500 goals coming with the England team.
Suarez reached this milestone after scoring the winning goal in the Atletico Madrid (1-0) match against Alaves on Sunday.
He took to social media to post a long message of appreciation to those who helped him develop into one of the world’s most feared attackers.
Talking about his start, he said, “When I started my professional career with my childhood dream team Nacional I thought there was nothing better than that and then we won the league together.”
“I was ready to take the next step and move to Europe at the age of nineteen. It was a very big step and I couldn’t have done it without the trust and support of the Groningen people,” he added.
Regarding Ajax, Suarez commented: “Ajax made me who I am today and there was no better place to learn and develop as a player than Ajax. Leading a team like this is the greatest thing I have achieved in my career.”
And when it comes to Liverpool, Suarez wrote: “Liverpool? Leferball It was special, calling the fans inspired me to rise to the challenge of playing in such a competitive league. ”
Suarez also spoke about Barcelona, continuing: “The wonderful city of Barcelona welcomed me with open arms and was able to play with the best players in the world and conquer Europe. What more could I ask for.”

Suarez is the fifth player still playing to join the 500 club, with Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Robert Lewandowski also reaching 500.
