Excavation works in the Suez Canal near the delinquent ship

Efforts are continuing to re-float the 400-meter-long container vessel EverGiven, which has been shutting down Egypt’s Suez Canal since Tuesday.

Bulldozers are removing sand and mud from the bow, while tug boats and ship cranes are used in an effort to move it.

On Thursday, the company that owns the Evergiven, Japanese company Choi Kensen, apologized for the effects of the accident on the traffic of ships waiting to pass through the canal.

She said she was doing her best, along with local authorities and ship operators, to solve the problem, but warned it was very difficult.
