Sayed Abdel Hafeez, director of football at Al-Ahly club, confirmed that he was greatly concerned that Al-Ahly players would suffer a lot of injuries in the national team match against Kenya, which ended in a positive 1/1 draw in the African Nations qualifiers to be held in Cameroon 2022.
Abdel Hafeez added in televised statements that the most important thing in the match is the qualification of our team for the African Nations Championship in Cameroon in January 2022, and he continued that he contacted Hamdy Fathy after the match to check on his health, stressing that he was fine and suffered a slight injury to his arm.
Regarding Al-Ahly’s negotiations with “Zizou and Sassi,” Abdel Hafeez said: “We did not negotiate at all, Ahmed Sayed Zizou and Ferjani Sassi, the Zamalek player, neither from near or far.”
The director of football at Al-Ahly added that the technical staff determines the team’s needs, and we have not entered into negotiations with this pair at all during the last period.
The Egyptian national team decided its qualification for the next African nations after a draw with Kenya with a goal for both teams, in the match that was held between the two teams in the capital, Nairobi, in the fifth round of the African Nations Cup qualifiers.
Mohamed Magdy Afsha scored the team’s first goal against Kenya in the second minute of the match, and Abdullah Hassan equalized in the 63rd minute, taking advantage of the dribbling that occurred in the penalty area.
