Lieutenant General Osama Rabie, Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority, will hold a press conference to reveal the details of the floatation of the Panamanian ship that ran aground in the canal last Tuesday.
Today, Monday, the Suez Canal Authority announced the resumption of navigation traffic in the canal, after the huge container ship that blocked the waterway for nearly a week was resumed.
The 400-meter Ever Geffen ship was stranded in a southern section of the canal last Tuesday morning, following strong winds, which led to the suspension of cargo traffic on the shortest shipping route between Europe and Asia.
President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi stated that Egypt had ended the crisis, saying, “With Egyptian hands, the whole world will be reassured of the path of its goods and needs that are passed by this axial shipping artery.”
