Ken Okak, the media official for the Kenya national team, confirmed that the presence of Mohamed Salah, the Egyptian national team’s star, in the Kenyan team’s dressing rooms after a match, was a personal initiative by the player without an invitation from anyone.
In special statements to “Yallakora,” Okak praised Mohamed Salah’s step in being in Kenyas dressing rooms, and congratulating the players on their spirit and performance in the match.
He revealed Salah’s talk to the Kenyan players: “You drew, but played a good match,” indicating that he had given his shirt to Kenneth Muguna.
He explained that Salah’s move is a wonderful touch from a great player, adding: “The players, the technical staff and the president of the federation were present in the room and were happy with the presence of Salah, unified football for the peoples.”
The Egyptian and Kenyan teams tied with one goal for each team, to ensure the Pharaohs qualify for the African Nations Cup in Cameroon next January, next to the Comoros, for Group G, while the Kenyan team bid farewell to the qualifiers, along with the Togo team.
The Egyptian team will meet Comoros next Monday at Cairo Stadium, to determine the group leader, while the Kenyan team faces its Togolese counterpart in the same round.
