The Goztepe Club published a video clip on its Twitter account, of the player the moment he received the news of being summoned to the ranks of the Turkish national team via a phone call, jumping from joy hysterically.
Albaslan Ozturk (27 years), who also holds Belgian citizenship, was summoned to the Turkish national team before its match against its Latvian guest (3-3) in the third round of qualifying for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, and the player remained seated on the bench.
Turkey tops the Group G ranking with 7 points, one point ahead of the Netherlands, Montenegro, and Norway.
While Latvia occupies fourth place in the ranking with one point, then Gibraltar is in fifth and last place without points.
As for the Goztepe team from Izmir, it ranks tenth in the Premier League standings with 39 points from 30 games, while Besiktas is on top of the league with 64 points, it has won 29 games.
