Zambia imposes a draw on Algeria in the 6-goal match

The Algerian national team tied with its Zambian host 3/3 today, Thursday, in the fifth round of Group E of African Nations Cup qualifiers, to be held in Cameroon early next year.

With this result, Zimbabwe qualified for the finals, after defeating Botswana earlier today, 1-0, by raising its score to eight points, four points behind Zambia, who is fourth and last.

For its part, Algeria, the leaders of the standings, raised its tally to 11 points.

The Algerian national team advanced through Rachid Ghazal in the 19th minute, before Islam Soleimani added the second goal in the 25th minute.

In the 34th minute, Baston Dhaka scored Zambias first goal from a penalty kick, before Clatus Shama equalized in the 52nd minute.

In the 55th minute, Soleimani scored his second goal and the third for his team, but Dhaka scored the equalizer again from a penalty kick in the 80th minute.
