This option would be a substitute for the European Super League, which was rejected by the International Federation, and thus would include the participation of African clubs that also wanted to create a new continental competition.

The 67-year-old is a member of the Executive Committee of the African Confederation, who resigned from his position as president of the Egyptian Football Association after Egypt’s exit from the 16th round at Cairo Stadium in front of South Africa in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
