President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi asserted that Egypt had not changed its position on building the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam for many years.
Al-Sisi said, during the inauguration of the secure and smart documents complex in the Administrative Capital, today, Wednesday: “My words have changed for a long time, and I don’t say anything and jealousy.
During his speech, Sisi demanded that he return to the meeting with the Prime Minister of Ethiopia in Cairo in mid-2018.

During this last conference, President Al-Sisi stressed that the visit of Ethiopian Prime Minister Abi Ahmed to Cairo represents a good opportunity to reach discussions on the Renaissance Dam and reach an agreement without prejudice to the interests of any party.
During the press conference with the Ethiopian Prime Minister, President El-Sisi added that areas of cooperation in agricultural investment and health, support for economic integration between Egypt and Ethiopia, and a successful model for African integration were discussed.
President El-Sisi said at the time: We are working to build confidence and strengthen bilateral cooperation with Ethiopia in all fields, and take into account the achievement of development and prosperity for the brotherly Ethiopian people, pointing out that Egypt’s policies towards Ethiopia remain always characterized by full concern for its interests, stability and security.
During the meeting, the President stressed that ways of a final agreement on the Renaissance Dam would secure Egypt’s water uses in the Nile River, and increase economic cooperation between the two countries, especially in light of the Egyptian private sector’s interest in increasing its investments in the Ethiopian market, and providing all possible facilities from both sides with the aim of supporting investments.
It was also agreed to establish a major Egyptian industrial zone in Ethiopia, and to encourage more agreements between the Egyptian and Ethiopian private sectors to import Ethiopian meat.
President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi flirted with Ethiopian Prime Minister Abi Ahmed during the press conference, after he asked him to repeat the oath to preserve Egypt’s share of water.
After “Abi Ahmed” finished his speech at the conference, President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi applauded the speech of the Ethiopian official, and called on him to repeat an oath: “By God, we will not do any harm to the water in Egypt.” So, “Abi Ahmed” repeated the oath.
