Forbes said billionaires’ fortunes this year totaled $ 13.1 trillion, up from $ 8 trillion last year.
“The very rich have gotten so much richer,” Randall Lynn, Forbes’ chief content officer, said in an interview with Reuters.

Investor and businessman, Warren Buffett, emerged in the top five for the first time in more than two decades, as technology executives dominated Forbes’ rankings.
This year’s list includes 493 newcomers, including Whitney Wolf-Heard, chief executive of dating app Bumble.
