Bayern Munich striker Eric Maxim Chubu-Moting sees his team have an opportunity to turn things around in the Champions League quarter-final second leg against Paris Saint-Germain next week, after losing the first leg.

Saint-Germain beat Bayern at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday by 3-2 in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals.

“We did not score goals as much as we wanted and we wasted a lot of goals,” Chubu-Moting said in comments, most notably his club’s website.

“Another day, we would have scored five or six goals,” the Cameroonian international added.

“The result is unfortunate. We played a great deal, played a good game and dominated. But we lost the match,” he added.

“It is not over yet. Within a week we have an opportunity to adjust the result in the second leg.”

The two teams meet next Tuesday in the second leg at the Princes Park Stadium.

Kylian Mbappe opened the goals of the match in the third minute, then Marquinhos added the second goal for the French team in the 28th minute.

Eric Maxime Chubu Muteng narrowed the score with a first goal for Bayern in the 37th minute, then Thomas Muller equalized for Bayern in the 60th minute.

Mbappe returned, however, and scored his second and third personal goal for Paris in the 68th minute.

This became Bayern’s first European defeat at home since March 2019.

This is also the first defeat for Bayern at the European level under coach Hans Flick after 16 games without loss.
