Abdullah told FilGoal.com: “I submitted my resignation from Zamalek club.”
He justified: “The board of directors has made a decision not to play basketball matches, so how can we withdraw from it and why?”
He continued, “I informed Imad Abdel Aziz of my decision to resign and he stuck with me, but I insisted on it.”
He concluded: “I wish success to Zamalek Club and its Board of Directors.”
Ibrahim Abdullah’s decision to resign comes in the wake of Zamalek management decision to play the Sporting match in the Basketball League.
Zamalek explained on his official website that he had given the Basketball Association a deadline before submitting an appeal and escalating against the decisions it announced after the events of its match against Al-Ahly.
The Egyptian Basketball Federation had decided to consider Zamalek as losing to Al-Ahly in the league championship after the match could not be played due to the presence of fans inside the hall.
