Al-Hilal almost scored the first in the 36th minute of a strong shot from outside the penalty area by Abdullah Abu Ajrah, but it hit the post.
In the second half of the match, Al Hilal reached the visitors’ goal again in the 49th minute. Eid Muqaddam also fired, but his ball hit the right post as well.
Mamelodi Sun Downs, on the other hand, almost decided the match with a deadly goal in the 81st minute after a pass from George Malolica to Kikina, who fired from a very long distance, but his ball hit the upper bar, to end the meeting with a goalless draw.
The draw raised Al Hilal’s balance to 4 points in second place, while the balance of Sun Downs rose to 13 points in first place, which he had already secured before that round.
JB Belzadad will play this evening with Mazembe in Algeria, in the same round of the group.
