Vahid Khaliloi, the Moroccan coach, explained the reasons for excluding Badr Bannon, Al-Ahly’s defender, from the last Lions camp.

Bannon was chosen in the preliminary list of the Mauritania and Burundi matches in the last two rounds of the upcoming African Nations Championship qualifiers, before the final list was announced without his name.

Haliloi said in remarks at a press conference on Thursday It was reported by Moroccan Radio Mars website: “I watch Badr Bannon matches like all players.”

The Bosnian coach added, “He offers great levels, except for the last match against Al-Merrikh in the African Champions League, but he remains a good player.”

He continued, “His name was in the preliminary list, before I excluded him for the account of Sufian Shakla, the Spanish player of Getafe, simply because the latter is facing players from Tina Karim Benzema, Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi.”

The Moroccan team, qualified for the African Nations Cup, tied with its Mauritanian counterpart 0-0 in the fifth round match.

While he defeated Burundi with a goal in the last round of the qualifiers.

Bannon participated in 20 matches with Al-Ahly in various competitions this season, and scored 3 goals.
