Galatasaray striker Mustafa Mohamed and the Egyptian national team revealed the reason for his adherence to professionalism last January and to leave for the Turkish League.

Mustafa Muhammad told the “DMC” channel, “I am an old Sunni, and I did not professionalize at a young age, as is usual with players at the age of 19 or 20.”

And he continued, “While I was with the Vanguards of the Army, one of the Turkish clubs who are in the middle of the schedule requested me to join me, and negotiations were not completed.”

He continued, “I asked to leave Zamalek after an offer came from Fenerbahce, but the former board of directors of Zamalek asked me to stay in order to win the African Champions League.”

The former Zamalek striker continued, “After the end of the African Championship, the new council came and came to me and a new offer, this time from Galatasaray, and I insisted on leaving because I am old.”

He continued, “And because my price will not increase from the current price because I play in Egypt and I am not abroad to increase my value.”

Regarding his accusation of rebelling against Zamalek and his absence from training because of his desire to become professional, Mustafa replied decisively, “I did not rebel against Zamalek, and when I was absent from training, it was due to the circumstances of my mother’s illness and my injury, and the evidence is that I did not sign any opponent and all the officials in the club defended me.”
