Salah scored a goal in Liverpool’s loss from Real Madrid, 1-3, in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals in Spain.
Lucas Vazquez said in statements to beIN Sports: “Of course it was better to have the score 3-0, perhaps Salah’s goal would give Liverpool some hope in the second leg.”
“They pressed us in the first 15 minutes in the second half, and this is normal. There is no easy match in the Champions League,” he added.
“We have to go to Anfield in order to win,” the Spanish international stressed.
The return match will be held next Wednesday.
Vazquez added, in remarks, most notably on his club’s website: “We have to be happy, we performed a great performance, the team played with focus from start to finish and we were aware of what was at stake against a strong competitor.”
“We take very seriously everything that our coach Zinedine Zidane says, and we try to work well in implementation of what he says,” he added.
He concluded, “It was an important match, it was a difficult match in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, and this strengthens our confidence before El Clasico.”
