United qualified for the Europa League semi-finals after overcoming the Granada hurdle, while Roma reached that stage after eliminating Ajax Amsterdam.
“Roma are a good team, and it looks like a great European match. It is a big club with a long history and knows how to defend as well as the Italians,” Solskjaer told the English network “BT Sport” after the Granada match.
“But we have performed well against Italian clubs before,” before he added, laughing, referring to overcoming Milan’s hurdle in the Round of 16.
On the matter of Eden Djikko, the current Roma and Manchester City striker, he said: “We know him very well, he is a dangerous striker in the penalty area.”
As for the victory over Granada, he said: “It was a physical match and we had to defend well with not having the ball and we won two goals and came out with clean sheets and some good individual performance from the players and now we look forward to meeting Burnley next Sunday.
He concluded, “We are now in the semi-finals and we have to overcome that obstacle in order to qualify for the final and win the cup.”
