Today, Monday, Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, chaired the meeting of the medical group to confront the spread of the Corona virus, in the presence of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Hala Zayed, Minister of Health and Population, Nevin Jamea, Minister of Trade and Industry, and Dr. Mohamed Awad Taj El-Din, Advisor to the President of the Republic for Health and Prevention Affairs, Major General Bahaa El-Din Zaidan, Chairman of the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement, Supply and Medical Supplies, and the Department of Medical Technology, Dr. Tamer Essam, President of the Egyptian Drug Authority, and Major General Doctor Magdy Amin, Director of the Medical Services Department of the Armed Forces.
The Prime Minister began the meeting, referring to what we are witnessing during this period of increasing rates of infection with the Coronavirus, which requires extra care, and the application of all precautionary and preventive measures with the utmost determination to combat the spread of this virus, referring in this regard to the great efforts made by the state on several tracks in the sector Medical Center to expand the provision of anti-virus vaccines, and work to provide sufficient strategic stocks of medical oxygen to meet the needs of hospitals nationwide, in addition to continuing efforts to provide the necessary medical devices and supplies, within the framework of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi’s directives, to work on the readiness of the medical sector permanently to deal with The repercussions of this virus, the provision of any additional funds that may be required for importing vaccinations and vaccines, and the provision of a strategic stock of medical supplies.
The Minister of Health confirmed that there is already an adequate reserve of medical oxygen, and there is no current crisis in its availability, and that there is no crisis in the availability of medical supplies and devices to counter the spread of the virus, and reviewed the efforts and measures being implemented to secure the quantities of oxygen required in the various governorates of the republic, especially the governorates. Upper Egypt, explaining that coordination has been made with companies producing liquefied oxygen to increase the quantities produced, and to redirect the produced quantities of industrial oxygen to the medical sector, after the completion of additional analyzes to comply with medical oxygen, in addition to the completion of raising the efficiency of medical gas networks for 40 hospitals affiliated with the Ministry .
Meanwhile, contracting work has been completed to supply 30 oxygen generators, to make them available to the hospitals of the Ministries of Health and Higher Education, as the supply of these generators will begin at the rate of 5 generators per month starting from June 2021, and the Prime Minister mandated that the strategic stock of medical oxygen be no less. About 3 million liters, other than what is produced for daily consumption.
