The Jordanian official news agency, Petra, reported, quoting a security source, yesterday evening, Saturday, that Awadallah and Sharif Hassan bin Zaid were arrested for security reasons.

The newspaper stated that “Sharif Zaid is the brother of the honorable Jordanian Armed Forces Captain Ali bin Zaid, who was martyred in 2010 while participating in the Jordanian Armed Forces mission in Afghanistan.”
The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Dr. Yousef Al-Othaimeen, affirmed that the organization stands and supports all the measures taken by the Jordanian monarch, King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, and his Crown Prince, Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, to maintain security and stability in Jordan.
The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Dr. Nayef Al-Hajraf, stressed the council’s standing with Jordan and its support for all decisions and measures taken by King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein to preserve the security and stability of his country, stressing that Jordan’s security is one of the security of the GCC states, based on the close ties between them.
