Fawzi Lakjaa, president of the Moroccan Football Association, announced his country’s intention to host the final matches of the African Champions League and the Confederation in its current edition in Morocco.
In Thursday’s statements, he said that the Moroccan Football Federation will submit a candidature to host the African Champions League final at the Mohammed V Sports Complex in Casablanca, and the African Confederation Cup at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat.
Lakjaa explained that Morocco will continue to host international and continental matches, noting that the FAR women’s football team will represent Morocco in the first African Women’s Champions League as champion of the Moroccan League, which Morocco will host in November.
Since last season, the CAF decided to hold the final of the African Champions League and the Confederation of Confederation, from one match to be in a country to be selected after receiving nominations from various local federations to request organization.
The Champions League final was supposed to be held last season in Cameroon before you apologized, and Egypt would be chosen to qualify for Al-Ahly and Zamalek for the final, while Morocco hosted the semi-finals and the final of the Confederation.
