Oussama Nabih, general coach of Zamalek club, said that he hopes Esperance will win against MCA in the final round match of the group stage of the African Champions League, in order to clear the way for the white knight to qualify for the quarter-finals.
Zamalek needs to win the sixth round match over Senegalese Twinget, to qualify for the quarter-finals, provided Mouloudia stumbles in front of Tunisias Esperance.
During telephone statements to the “Ontime Stadium” program in the early hours of Sunday morning, Nabih said: “I congratulate the fans of the club, we played a match at the highest level, and we achieved a result that we hope will help us later.”
He added, “We will do what we can. Yes, qualification is not in our hands, but (we will work for us) and we hope that matters will serve us in the end.”
He continued: “The players had persistence and determination. We focused on the technical and moral aspects. We could have scored more goals, but thank God for the three important points.”
He concluded: “The Esperance and Mouloudia match is difficult, and I hope that Esperance will not miss two consecutive matches.”
It is worth noting that Esperance, the leaders of the Group D table, lost 2-1 to Senegalese, Twingette, in the fifth round match.
