Nassif Sawiris tops Forbes’ list of wealthy Arabs in 2021

Forbes network released the list of Arab rich people for 2021, which included 22 billionaires, including 6 Egyptians, compared to 21 billionaires last year.

This year’s list saw the exit of Kuwaiti Kutayba Al-Ghanem, as well as the return of Qatari Hamad bin Jassim Al Thani and Moroccan Othman Benjelloun.

Forbes said, although last year was one of the most difficult years in recent history, it was not that difficult for the world’s wealthy, and unexpectedly, the number of rich people increased significantly over the course of 2020.

The number of billionaires on the Forbes global list this year increased by 660 billionaires, of whom 493 entered the list for the first time, which equates to a new billionaire every 17 hours over the course of 2020.

Jeff Bezos continued to top the list of rich people for the fourth year in a row, with his fortune amounting to $ 177 billion.

Elon Musk ranked second with 151 billion dollars.

On the Arab side, Forbes list did not mention the wealthy people in Saudi Arabia due to the cessation of their inclusion in it since 2018.

Egyptian businessman Nassif Sawiris, chairman of Orascom Construction, topped the Forbes list of Arab rich people for 2021, and is ranked 297th globally, with a fortune of $ 8.3 billion and an increase of $ 3.3 billion over the last year in which he was in the same Arab ranking, according to Forbes.

Algerian Issad Rebrab, founder and CEO of the Cevital Group of Companies, ranked 589 on the global list, came in second place, with a net worth of $ 4.8 billion, an increase of $ 600 million compared to last year in which he was in the same position.

Majid Al Futtaim and his family, founder of Majid Al Futtaim Holding Group, ranked third in the list of the richest Arabs, who is ranked 831 in the world, with a fortune of $ 3.6 billion, an increase of $ 300 million over last year, in which it came in fourth place, repeated in the Arab list.

And in fourth place came Egyptian businessman Naguib Sawiris, president of Orascom Investment Holding, which is ranked 956th with a net worth of $ 3.2 billion, an increase of $ 200 million compared to last year in which he was ranked sixth.

Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Ghurair and his family, the founder of Mashreq Bank and owner of Al Ghurair Construction Company, ranked fifth in the world with a fortune of $ 2.8 billion, down $ 900 million from last year in which he was in third place.

And in sixth place came Egyptian businessman Mohamed Mansour, with a fortune of $ 2.5 billion.

And in seventh place is Lebanese Najib Mikati, with a fortune of $ 2.5 billion.

And in eighth place is Lebanese Taha Mikati, with a fortune of $ 2.5 billion.

And in ninth place is Emirati Hussain Sajwani, with a fortune of $ 2.4 billion.

Omani Suhail Bahwan ranked tenth, with a fortune of $ 2.3 billion.

And in 11th place is Emirati Abdullah Al-Futtaim and his family, with a fortune of $ 2.2 billion.

And in 12th place, Lebanese Bahaa Hariri, with a fortune of $ 2 billion.

And in 13th place is Moroccan Aziz Akhannouch and his family, with a fortune of $ 1.9 billion.

And in 14th place is Egyptian Mohamed Al-Fayed, with a fortune of $ 1.8 billion.

In 15th place is Qatari Faisal bin Qasim Al Thani, with a fortune of $ 1.6 billion.

And in the 16th place, Egyptian Youssef Mansour, with a fortune of $ 1.5 billion.

In 17th place is Bahraini Robert Moawad, with a fortune of $ 1.4 billion.

And in the 18th place came the Lebanese Ayman Hariri, with a fortune of $ 1.3 billion.

And in the 19th place is Qatari Hamad bin Jassim Al Thani, with a fortune of $ 1.3 billion.

In 20th place is Moroccan Othman Benjelloun with a fortune of $ 1.3 billion.

And in the 21st place, Lebanese Fahd Hariri with a fortune of $ 1.1 billion.

And in 22nd place, Egyptian Yassin Mansour, with a fortune of $ 1.1 billion.
