On Thursday, Zamalek Club issued an official statement announcing its adherence to a foreign refereeing team to face Al-Ahly at the Egyptian we League summit.
The official Zamalek website stated that the committee in charge of managing the club addressed the Egyptian Football Association to object to Jabaliya’s decision to entrust the task of the match to an Egyptian referee team.
The committee confirmed that Zamalek puts its full confidence in Egyptian arbitration, but the club, and due to the flaming competition at the top of the tournament, refuses any direction to the idea of assigning the match to an Egyptian crew, and to adhere to what is known in the summit matches with the presence of a foreign referee team, especially since there is no hindrance to that, and a guarantee. To lift the embarrassment of the Egyptian referees in such sensitive matches.
Ahmed Mujahid, head of the tripartite committee that manages Egyptian football affairs, revealed in televised statements that the summit was assigned to an Egyptian arbitration team.
The match is scheduled to take place on the 18th of this month, in a match that comes from the postponed stage of the fourth week of the Egyptian We League competition.
It is worth noting that Zamalek is at the top with 33 points from 14 games, while Al-Ahly is in third place with 27 points from 11 games.
