The Board of Directors of the Egyptian Basketball Federation decided to form a committee to hear the Zamalek club’s grievance regarding the penalties for the Al-Ahly match, which was canceled after it was scheduled to take place last Monday in the Egyptian Basketball League.
According to the basketball federation’s statement, the board of directors decided to form a committee that includes Magdy Abu Fraikha, president of the federation, his deputy, Mohamed Abdel-Muttalib, and head of the Competitions Committee, to hear Zamalek’s complaint about the penalties for the Al-Ahly match.
And the attendance of the fans in the covered hall of Zamalek caused the cancellation of the Zamalek and Al-Ahly match.
Last Tuesday, the Egyptian Basketball Federation announced the decisions taken on its part, and among the penalties came Al-Ahly’s victory in the match and the defeat of Zamalek, with the imposition of a fine on the white club of 30,000 Egyptian pounds.
It is reported that the committee in charge of managing Zamalek club announced, through an official statement, that it rejected the decisions issued by the Basketball Association, indicating that it would take all steps to ensure the preservation of the club’s rights.
