According to the Indian site gadgetsnow, the news of the closure of PUBG Lite was confirmed by developers Krafton via a message on its official website, and they said, “We are very grateful for the passion and support of the amazing number of PUBG Lite fans who have been with us, during the troubled times of the Covid-19 pandemic, We hope PUBG Lite is able to provide our fans with a fun way, the developer said.
“Unfortunately, we made the difficult decision to close the service after much deliberation and it is time for our journey to end. We inform you unfortunately that the PUBG Lite service is scheduled to end on April 29, 2021 (UTC),” the statement continued.
The developers said, “We would like to express our sincere apologies as well as our deepest appreciation to everyone. We really hope you have enjoyed your time with us, and we hope to look forward to our future endeavors,” and PUBG Lite was one of the most popular games in the first months of the outbreak.
The game was banned in India under Article 69A of Indias Information Technology Act, while PUBG Corporation announced later that it would withdraw its partnership with Tencent and will work with the Indian government to search for a quick solution.
