Pyramids suffered their first defeat of the season in the Confederation after a 2-0 defeat away to Raja in the third round of the group stage of the championship on the Mohamed V complex in Casablanca.
Raja raised his score to 9 points to be the first in the group, and Pyramids came in second place with 6 points, before the two teams met in the fourth round in Cairo.
Pyramids played a combination of: Sherif Ekrami; Omar Jaber, Osama Jalal, Ali Jaber, Ahmed Ayman Mansour, Muhammad Hamdi; Nabil Emad “Donga”, Mahmoud Hamadeh, Islam Issa, Ramadan Subhi, and Muhammad Farouk.
Ramadan Sobhi wasted a dangerous opportunity to score in the tenth minute of the match, after a high ball coming from the back to the front, and Islam Issa received it in the head to present it to Ramadan, who took over and dodged the defense and the goalkeeper with one game to shoot a ball and found another defender to push it away and then went to Islam Issa, who knocked it out higher From the goal.
Rajas quick punishment came in the 15th minute, by scoring the first goal of the match, after Raja defender Abdel-Ilah Madhkour hit a weak ball that Ikrami could not catch and put it in his own net instead of taking a goal kick.
Ben Malango scored the second goal for Raja in the 21st minute of the match, from another defensive error after Ali Jabr hit the ball in his teammate and it rebounded to Mohsen Metwally, who gave her the freedom to Ben Malango, who did not shorten the ball and put the ball in the net of Ikrami.
Pyramids coach Rodolfo Aruabarina made substitutions in the second half in the hope of adjusting the result and appearing in a different way, but nothing has changed in the level of the final outcome of the match.
