The head of the Human Rights Committee in the House of Representatives, Tariq Radwan, described the statements made by Hassan Al-Nu’mani, Chairman of the University Hospitals Board of Sohag, as “irresponsible” and completely separate from reality regarding developments and developments of infection with the Coronavirus.
In a statement issued today, Monday, Radwan said that the statements made by Al-Nu`mani, today, can only lead to a “full-fledged catastrophe” by unjustified exaggeration of the seriousness of the virus that affected the whole world with a pandemic that put the largest country in an emergency health crisis, and with simpler actions. Radwan stressed the need for officials to display the spirit that applies in Egypt and its new approach established by President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, in terms of clear and frank dealing with problems and crises without equivocation, especially that we are in a health emergency for all countries of the world, which requires that we deal with it with utmost openness. Not by turning around and making deceptive statements, which will lead to an increase in the epidemiological health situation in Sohag Governorate, and then the whole country.
The MP stressed the need for rapid action to be taken to contain the negative effects of the “irresponsible” statements that dealt with extreme disregard and contradict the reality completely, and to expand the awareness-raising circles for the people in Upper Egypt in general and the Sohag Governorate in particular, and to increase the measures and strict precautionary measures, instead of spreading rumors. And the launch of fallacies in times of great sensitivity and accuracy.
