The Liverpool team inflicted a crushing defeat on Arsenal at home (3-0), in the match that took place between them on Saturday, at the top of the 30th round of the English Premier League football.
Substitute Portuguese striker Diogo Jota opened the scoring for the Reds in the 64th minute, with a superb header.
His fellow Egyptian star, Mohamed Salah, doubled the score, in the 68th minute, after a great individual effort sent the ball from between the feet of German goalkeeper Bernd Leno.
Jota returned and signed his second personal goal for him and the third for “the Reds”, in the 82nd minute of the match, which was held at the “Emirates” stadium in the capital, London.
Liverpool raised its score after this victory to 49 points, and advanced from seventh to fifth in the Premier League table, pending the results of the rest of the matches of this round.
Arsenal’s balance stopped at 42 points, and it is ranked ninth so far in the league table.
