Zamalek Club was crowned champion of the 2020-2021 Super League of Handball after beating Al-Ahly with a score of 18-17 in the decisive match that brought them together this evening, Monday, in Hassan Mustafa Hall, 6th of October.
Zamalek managed to finish the first half, beating Al-Ahly with a score of 11-10, after a 30-minute lead with attempts from the Red Castle to return, which resulted in a tie three times at the fourth, sixth and ninth goals.
Al-Ahly was able to return in the second half to advance by two goals, but its superiority did not last long, so Zamalek returned in the result and advanced in the final minutes to end the match, beating by a goal.
The two teams resorted to playing a play-off match today, after they tied in the last confrontation in the Super League last Friday, to equalize in the balance of points at the end of the competition.
This title is the 17th for Zamalek in the balance of its championships in the Super Handball League, while Al-Ahly’s balance has stagnated at 23 championship titles.
