Ahmed Mujahid, head of the temporary committee for the management of the Egyptian Football Association, confirmed that the Al-Ahly and Zamalek match in the league will be held on time, without postponements, and with Egyptian arbitration.
In televised statements, Mujahid said: “We have not received any requests from Al-Ahly or Zamalek to hold the match with foreign referees. We do not have any problem of any kind in this matter.”
The postponed match between Al-Ahly and Zamalek from the fourth round in the Egyptian League is scheduled to be played on April 18th at Cairo International Stadium.
Mujahid added, “We have not received any objection from Zamalek, as was recently reported, and we have nothing to do with the statements issued by clubs unless we receive official letters.”
Mujahid continued: “Al-Ahly or Zamalek did not send us any requests regarding the recruitment of foreign referees for the next summit match, and we trust the Egyptian referees to manage the match.”
The head of the Football Association Committee stated: “After the next summit match, we will announce the end of the era of bringing foreign referees to manage the summit matches between Al-Ahly and Zamalek in Egypt.”
Mujahid added, “The match will be held under video technology and without fans, and therefore there is no problem with assigning the task to Egyptian referees. We follow the Egyptian referees throughout the season in the league in a good way.”
Mujahid ended: “The only case that the Al-Ahly and Zamalek match was not held on time is a security letter, and this will not happen according to my expectations, and the match will be held at the time specified in advance.”
