The Tokyo Olympiad for the handball competitions that were held this morning, Thursday, resulted in Egypt falling into the second group, which included Denmark, Sweden, Portugal and Bahrain with Japan, the “organizer.”
The draw had a strong and enthusiastic reaction among the Egyptian national team players, who showed their willingness to challenge, write a history for Egypt and get a medal.
Egypt captain Ahmed Al-Ahmar and Zamalek handball player posted a tweet on his official Twitter account, in which he wrote: “We accepted the challenge.”
He concluded his tweet, saying, “Yes, we can.”
Ali Zain, the left-back of the Egyptian national team and a professional in the ranks of Sharjah of the United Arab Emirates, wrote on his official Twitter account, saying: “The Pharaohs are ready to write history.”
Mamdouh Hashem, a player in the Egyptian national team and a professional in the ranks of Dynamo Bucharest, tweeted on his official Twitter account, saying, “We accepted the challenge and this is the time for the medal.”
It is worth noting that the Egyptian team ranked seventh in the 2021 World Cup.
The competition regulations stipulate that 4 teams from the second group, which includes Egypt, and two teams from the first group, will qualify for the quarter-finals of the Tokyo Olympics, which will be held from July 24 to August 7.
