A source close to Egyptian international Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet, Aston Villa star, revealed the size of the injury suffered by the player in the match against Liverpool, which was held yesterday, Saturday, in the 31st round of the English Premier League.
The source said, in statements to Laila Koura, that the x-rays that the player underwent on Sunday morning showed that he suffered a cut in the cruciate ligament in the knee, which takes nine months to recover from and return to participation.
Trezeguet was forced to leave the stadium in tears due to the injury he suffered ten minutes before the end of the match, and Egyptian Mohamed Salah, the Liverpool star, was keen to reassure him before leaving.
The 26-year-old wrote in a message on his social media accounts after the match: “I thank all the people that I asked Ali and I do not know how to answer her. The injury is not reassuring yet. I ask you to pray.”
Liverpool regained the taste of victories at home in the Premier League by beating Aston Villa 2-1, after having suffered six consecutive defeats at Anfield in the competition.
Liverpool raised its score to 52 points to jump to fourth place on goal difference against West Ham, while Aston Villas balance stuck at 44 points in tenth place.
