Zamalek threatens to freeze the football activity due to penalties for the youth team players

The committee in charge of managing the Zamalek club, headed by Counselor Emad Abdel Aziz, confirmed its complete rejection of the sanctions recently issued by the Egyptian Football Association against the players of the club’s youth team, and the committee expressed its annoyance at the decisions, stressing that it would take all necessary measures to preserve the rights of the club.

The official Zamalek website confirmed that the administration had contacted officials of the tripartite committee of the Football Association to confirm the rejection of the decisions and that the club’s management would escalate the matter even if it came to freezing the football activity.

The Disciplinary Committee of the Egyptian Football Association issued its decisions regarding the necessary penalties in the widespread video incident of a number of Zamalek players within the team born in 1999.

The penalties included the suspension of Imam Ashour for 12 matches and a fine of 200 thousand pounds, in addition to the suspension of 5 other youths, 8 matches, and a fine of 100 thousand pounds for each of them.

The club management has appealed against the penalties, which suspends the implementation of the decision until it is considered, as the Appeal Committee has the right to approve the penalty, amend it, or cancel it.
