The Russian Defense Ministry said on Sunday that a military transport plane belonging to the Russian Aerospace Forces has transported a female polar bear from Yakutsk Province to Moscow for emergency treatment.
“The Russian Ministry of Defense and the Russian Geographical Society have delivered a female polar bear, who was in need of urgent medical assistance, to the Moscow Zoo,” the ministry said in a statement.
He added, “The animal was accompanied by representatives of the park.”
He continued, “The female bear endured the flight well. He provided her with food and water throughout the flight .. After landing, she was immediately transferred to the Moscow Zoo, where she will undergo examination and rehabilitation in the coming weeks.”
The statement indicated that a female polar bear was seen by residents of the Dzibariki Khaya village in the Tombon region of Yakutia, on the 11th of May.
The village is located deep in the continent, a thousand kilometers off the coast of the Arctic.
