Sayed Abdel Hafeez, Al-Ahly Football Manager, admitted the team’s level of decline in the Ghazl El Mahalla match, indicating that there are some matters that cannot be explained by the arbitration options for the matches.

Al-Ahly continued to waste points after losing to Ghazl El Mahalla (1-0) in the 19th round of the Egyptian Premier League.

Abdel Hafeez said in televised comments after the match: “Al-Ahly did not appear in the appropriate way in front of Ghazl El-Mahalla. The team was very bad in the first half and we entered the atmosphere of the match late.”

He added, “We suffer from unnatural cohesion in the matches, and we want to close that page quickly in order to focus on the next two matches against Al-Ittihad, Alexandria and Zamalek.”

He continued, “I do not care what happened. There are some things that I can not find an explanation for. It is not permissible to deal with a person with a different reaction, and another person does not.”

And he continued: “My question to the specialists, is there a review of the errors of video technology and those who are chosen, Muhammad Al-Sabahi sat on the VAR four times and made six mistakes, three of them in the matches of Zamalek.”

And he continued, “I say this for the billionth time to Wajih Ahmed, head of the referees committee. Is there a review of the statistics or is it a coincidence, I trust Mahmoud Al-Banna despite my lack of conviction in him.”

He stressed: “You can imagine that the refereeing staff who led our match against Zamalek were the ones who administered all Al-Ahly matches afterwards, and this happened in just 15 days. Is it a coincidence or what?”

Al-Ahly football director said: “For the first time in 17 matches, the arena referee is called to resort to video technology in Al-Ahly matches, and there are those who say that he was wronged by an arbitrator despite receiving a penalty and avoiding a case of expulsion.”
