Moroccos Wydad Casablanca team imposed a positive tie on its opponent, Mouloudia Algeria, with the goal of each side in a match held at the “5 Guilliers” stadium within the first leg of the quarter-finals of the African Champions League competition.
Walid El Karti, the captain of Wydad Casablanca, scored a goal for the “Casablanca” team, but the referee canceled it for offside, as Ayoub El Kaabi hit the header over Mouloudias goal, and the ball hit the crossbar before the ball rebounded to the ball and scored.
The assistant referee canceled the goal for offside, so that the Wydad players protested against the referee, and the result remained negative in the first half.
In the second half, and from a penalty kick, Yahya Jubran scored the first goal for Wydad in the 66th minute, but Miloud Rabiei managed to score the equalizer for the landowners in the 83rd minute.
The return match is scheduled to take place a week later, where the return leg will be played on the ground of the “Mohamed V Sports Complex” stadium next Saturday evening.
Wydad needs a goalless draw at the very least in order to reach the golden square, on the other hand, Mouloudia has no choice but to win or draw by more than one goal to snatch the qualifying card from the West.
The winner of this match is set to meet the winner of the next match, which will bring together Simba of Tanzania and Kaizer Chiefs of South Africa.
