A responsible source in Al-Ahly revealed the position of the injured five-star, Ali Maaloul, Junior Ajay, Saad Samir, Ayman Ashraf and Badr Bannon, from playing the summit match against Zamalek in the Egyptian Premier League.
Al-Ahly is preparing to face Al-Ittihad of Alexandria next Thursday in the 20th week of the league, before it meets against Zamalek, leader of the standings, next Monday in the 21st round.
The source said, in statements to Laila Kora: “Ali Maaloul, Junior Ajay and Saad Samir will be outside the accounts of the technical staff during a match against Zamalek.”
He added that there are attempts to prepare Maaloul and Ajay to face the South African Sundowns in the first leg of the African Champions League quarter-finals scheduled for mid-May, especially since their qualifying program has not ended.
The source indicated that Saad Samir suffers from severe stress in the connective muscle and will undergo an intensive rehabilitation program, to miss the matches between Al-Ittihad, Alexandria and Zamalek.
The source concluded his statements by saying that the duo Ayman Ashraf and Badr Bannon will undergo a final medical test tomorrow, Wednesday, to determine their position on catching up with the Alexandria match in Alexandria.
